CEO Blog - 28.3.25

This week has been filled with inspiring moments...

It has really highlighted our MAT's commitment to ethical leadership and community engagement.

I started the week by meeting with the Heads of School, where we had a fascinating discussion on ethical leadership.

These conversations are essential as we try to instil values that guide our decision-making and influence our school culture.

I was also thrilled to join the new aspiring leaders during their first training session with Gill Robinson.

The enthusiasm and fresh perspectives brought forward by this group are really promising. I'm excited to see how their action research, particularly surrounding their 'wicked question' ideas, evolves.

In my role as CEO, building connections is vital, especially as our organisation continues to grow.

With that in mind, myself and Steve Williams, our Chair of Trustees, had an initial meet-and-greet with the prospective governors of Heywood Academy.

This was an excellent opportunity to discuss our vision and how we can work together for the benefit of our students.

It was great to see colleagues from other schools in the trust, who are local to Heywood, giving back to their community.

Their dedication and commitment reflects our shared values and strengthens our bonds for the future.

Following this, we had a values-led presentation from Laura Millard, where she provided updates on both Hollinwood and Heywood.

The insights shared were valuable, and it was another reminder of how close we are to opening another school.

Exciting times ahead.

On another note, I must admit I missed the ice bath challenge!

However, I look forward to catching up with the videos and seeing everyone’s brave faces!

Have a good weekend, all
