CEO Blog - 18.10.24

Hello everyone,

This week, I had the pleasure of attending the Head of Site Development meeting at the SYNC headquarters in Manchester.

It was an inspiring morning filled with discussions about the impact of iPads across the trust and the innovative ways we’re enhancing education for our students.

It’s remarkable to witness how this technology has transformed learning experiences, making education more engaging and accessible for all.

This speaks volumes about the collaborative efforts within our trust and the dedication of our staff to use technology for the benefit of our students.

I also had some exciting discussions with our Local Authority colleagues regarding some exciting upcoming developments.

I can't share too much just yet, but I encourage you to watch this space for more updates soon!

On the recruitment front, I’m pleased to report that the search for the new Headteacher at Thomas Ashton is progressing well.

We’re set to conduct interviews next week, and I’m optimistic about finding a great fit for our MAT community, but more importantly for Thomas Ashton, as they enter a new phase of development.

I met with Thomas Ashton governors to discuss the academisation process, which is moving forward well.

We have a provisional completion date of January 1st, and I appreciate everyone’s hard work and commitment to making this transition smooth and successful.

In recent weeks, we’ve also seen a surge of interest among colleagues across the trust wanting to be involved in our Advanced Skills Practitioner programme.

It's great to see so many of our staff eager to engage with our developmental initiatives and grow professionally.

To cap off the week, we held a productive trustee meeting where we reflected on our recent progress.

It was wonderful to hear a fantastic celebration presentation from Jonathan and Chris from Hawthorns, showcasing the great things happening at the brand new school site.

Have a great weekend, everyone.
