Are you interested in becoming a school governor?
That's the question I want to ask this week, as we continue to recruit governors across the MAT.
Some of our schools currently have vacancies for governors, and we are reaching out to potential candidates to declare their interest.
I understand that there may be people who wonder why they should take on such a commitment.
The answer is fairly simple - it's about making a positive contribution.
But there's more to it than that...
Aside from providing invaluable governance to our schools, being a governor also allows you to gain comprehensive insight into the entire MAT and nurture relationships across our organisation.
You will have the opportunity to participate in decision-making processes and engage in meaningful discussions that shape our schools’ futures, all of which are excellent experiences for your own professional development.
There is an abundance of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) available to our governors, which can greatly enhance your CV and support your career progression, whether that's in education or elsewhere.
I would also like to draw your attention to the exciting development of Heywood Academy.
We have unique opportunities for those living in Rochdale and Heywood to get involved with the governing body of this brand new school.
This is a remarkable chance to play a pivotal role in shaping our newest school from the ground up!
If you are interested in becoming a governor, or if you know someone in your family, perhaps a parent or sibling, who might be interested, please fill out the form below.
We will (with your permission) keep your details on file and contact you if a suitable position becomes available.
I wish you all a fantastic weekend ahead!
