That's the question I want to ask this week, as we continue to recruit governors across the MAT.

Some of our schools currently have vacancies for governors, and we are reaching out to potential candidates to declare their interest.

I understand that there may be people who wonder why they should take on such a commitment.

The answer is fairly simple - it's about making a positive contribution.

Aside from providing invaluable governance to our schools, being a governor also allows you to gain comprehensive insight into the entire MAT and nurture relationships across our organisation.

You will have the opportunity to participate in decision-making processes and engage in meaningful discussions that shape our schools’ futures, all of which are excellent experiences for your own professional development.

There is an abundance of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) available to our governors, which can greatly enhance your CV and support your career progression, whether that's in education or elsewhere.
