Happy Friday, everyone

This week, I wanted to talk about my visit to Thomas Ashton School, where I had the pleasure of witnessing some inspiring creativity from our students.

As I walked around the school, I was drawn to the fantastic Pudsey creations on display. Each one was proof of the students' hard work, imagination  and teamwork. I was tasked with choosing a winner, but I honestly struggled to select a standout piece, as they were all so impressive!

One of the highlights for me was learning about square breathing, a technique identified in our "25 Ways to Calm Down."

I’m going to try this out for myself.

One student impressed me with his tattoo creation of my name, and I loved how he included his personal touch into the Pudsey tribute. Another student shared with me the collaborative effort behind the composite Pudsey from his class. The way they all worked together was remarkable and a shining example of what we can achieve through teamwork.

The artwork on the Remembrance Day Pudsey was also stunning. It captured the essence of remembrance and respect.

Whilst I was disappointed to miss out on the bake sale, I felt that the creative representation made up for it.

A small Pudsey that I spotted, representing friendship, was genuinely moving. It served as a reminder of the connections we share within our community.

I should also mention how excited I am about the "Choose a Pudsey Surprise"! I’m still hoping to collect my chocolate bar before it’s too late!

What stood out to me most were the inspirational messages accompanying the pieces. They provided me with a lift and reinforced my belief in the wonderful spirit we have within our schools.

I was inspired by every single creation I saw and it was impossible to choose a winner among such incredible talent.

I have asked Mr. Butterworth to ensure that everyone is recognised and rewarded for their teamwork and creativity this week because they all deserve it!

Thank you, Thomas Ashton School, for welcoming me and sharing your amazing work. You have all shown that together, we can create something truly special.

What a way to wrap up the week!

Wishing you all a restful weekend.
